Job Summary:

As the Maintenance Store Clerk you will be responsible for managing, organizing, and maintaining the inventory of parts and equipment in the storeroom. Your role will contribute to the smooth operation of the maintenance department’s operations by ensuring availability of the necessary parts, accurate inventory tracking and kitting of parts for efficient work execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records of parts and equipment, including regular physical counts.
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments of maintenance supplies, verifying quantity and quality.
  • Organize and stock parts and equipment in designated storage areas.
  • Collaborate closely with the maintenance planner to understand upcoming maintenance schedules and parts requirements.
  • Coordinate the kitting of parts in alignment with maintenance planning, ensuring they are ready for work execution.
  • Provide maintenance with regular updates on inventory status, availability of critical parts and potential lead times.
  • Participate in joint reviews and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize maintenance planning, kitting and parts availability.
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff (planner, supervisors) and procurement to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Monitor inventory levels and initiate purchase orders to replenish stock as needed.
  • Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders and inspect
  • Assist maintenance staff in locating and retrieving necessary parts and equipment.
  • Perform regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and reconcile any discrepancies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized maintenance store, ensuring that supplies are properly labeled and stored.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines when handling hazardous materials or equipment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance-related purchases and activities.

Ihr Profil

Qualifications:

  • Be able to properly identify parts and tools based on maintenance team requests.
  • Collaborate closely with maintenance personnel to understand their specific needs.
  • Ensure that the correct parts and tools are provided promptly and accurately.
  • Proven experience in inventory management, preferably in a maintenance or related field.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining inventory records.
  • Knowledge of inventory management software or systems is a plus.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office applications.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects as required.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures in a maintenance or warehouse environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be willing and physically able to walk/work in, observe and spend time in a smelter environment.
  • Must be willing and physically able to work in intense heat situations.
  • Prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, climbing, balancing, crouching and kneeling.  
  • May have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, in meetings or presenting and training.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Ability to travel throughout facility as required to conduct audits and/or walk-throughs.
  • Must wear all required PPE when in protected areas.
  • Required to reach and grasp with hands and reach with arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to respond to any safety incident quickly and effectively and/or accident including First Responder duties.
  • Willing and physically able to travel domestically and/or internationally, if requested.
  • This is an extensively physical role.
