As an E&I Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various electrical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical distribution systems, contactors, and starters.

Understand approach boundaries, restrictive boundaries, NFPA 70E trained.

Understand Cal ratings and safety equipment as used in distribution system of medium voltage.

Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on distribution systems to ensure optimal performance reliability.

Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner to minimize downtime.

Collaborate with engineers and other team members to design and implement electrical system upgrades and modifications.

Understand LOTO and be able to perform multiple lock out boxes.

Document all maintenance and repaid activities, including updating schematics, manuals, and other technical documentation.

Ability to install and troubleshoot, Motor Starters and Controls, like Cycle Start Buttons, Limits Switches, Sensors, Power Supplies, and can run wire to said items.
Knowledge of AC and DC voltage is a must – 480V – 24V. Preferred 4160V.

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field preferred.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working as an Electrical Technician or in a similar role.

Proficient in PLC programming and troubleshooting (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.).

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control devices.

Experience with SCADA systems, DCS, HMIs, and other control system software.

Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagram, and technical manuals.

Experience with relevant software tools (e.g., MS Office, SAP, etc.).

Basic works with production software, HMI-process control software, MES, SAP, and/or LIMS.

Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as needed.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Willingness to take responsibility and make decisions within the equipment and process margins.

Open minded, likes teamwork, result driven, eager to learn, etc.

Must be willing and physically able to walk/work in, observe and spend time in a smelter environment.

Must be willing and physically able to work in intense heat situations.

Able to sit, stand and walk for varying periods of time in the plant.

Must be able to perform the following: walking, standing, climbing, pulling, and or pushing, carrying, grasping, using hand-to-finger movement, balancing, reaching, twisting, turning, and stooping.

May occasionally be required to reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Good physical condition with the ability to lift to 50 lbs. occasionally.

Good hand/eye coordination, motor skills, 20/20 corrected vision and hearing within the normal range. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Ability to respond quickly and efficiently to all safety needs on the floor or in the office areas.

Must wear all required PPE when in protected areas.

Willing and physically able to travel domestically and/or internationally, if requested.
