Group Continuous Improvement (CI) acts as inhouse partner for cross site improvement implementation in order to effectively solve operational challenges.

Head of Continuous Improvement Production (m/f/d)

Your Tasks

  • In this position, you will lead a team of Continuous Improvement (CI) specialists to manage a portfolio of improvement programs/projects and best practice networks across Aurubis’ international production sites.
  • You will support the development of your team members towards becoming effective as business partners for the organization and preparing their mid-/ long-term transition to other managerial roles within Aurubis.
  • Additionally, you will liaise with the management teams of the different production sites regularly to retrain proper focus, ensure alignment and prioritize customer support requests.
  • You will lead the deployment of key strategic programs such as Digital Factory – Aurubis’ company-wide effort to digitalize production.
  • Furthermore, you will communicate across the full range of stakeholders, from shop floor to Executive Board, to obtain buy-in for change and safeguard access to required resources and subject matter expertise.
  • You are going to facilitate exchange of best practices across sites, and drive realization of identified network synergies and embed a collaborative improvement culture.
  • Besides that, you will strengthen and expand connections with external industry and research partners for best practice exchange.

Your Profile

  • You have successfully completed a technical or business master’s degree or diploma (college/university), e.g. in industrial, chemical engineering or a comparable field of study.
  • In addition, you possess at least eight years of project leadership experience in leading ambitious and complex projects in an international multi-site setting.
  • You have strong analytical and conceptual abilities combined with strategic and entrepreneurial thinking.
  • Furthermore, you look at processes and optimizations in an end-to-end way and involve your stakeholders in line with that.
  • You possess proven problem-solving skills and a high level of independence in planning, execution and controlling, and you make strategic and operative trade-off decisions to accomplish project objectives.
  • Besides that, you contribute a robust set of modern project management skills (preferably acc. to PRINCE2) as well as robust moderation and facilitation skills, e.g. for working sessions.
  • You fully understand operational and financial KPIs in the broader project context and you are an excellent communicator on multiple levels.
  • You also have an excellent command of written and spoken German and English (C level).
  • Additionally, you embrace change with high levels of ambition and passion for results, a strong willingness to further develop yourself and a resilient mindset.
  • You have strong teamwork skills and an interest in new tasks and challenges as well as intercultural and leadership empathy.
