The Procurementdivision of the site in Lünen is responsible for sourcing indirect materials, goods, and services. We work to secure optimal procurement conditions and procurement support for CapEx projects and to ensure that the site is well supplied.

Strategic Buyer Plant Engineering / Indirect Material & Services

Your Tasks

  • take accountability for all local procurement activities with a strong focus on plant engineering and indirect material and services, including the accountability for contracting and procurement related activities
  • support local procurement activities with focus on construction and work contract issues
  • create, implement and secure the execution of the local procurement strategy for the relevant spend area
  • cooperate closely with the Corporate Procurement and respective global category managers and contract managers to ensure the execution of relevant hybrid categories and optimal support for CapEx projects
  • support supplier innovation and drive knowledge exchange within the Aurubis procurement
  • review, analyze and optimize specifications with the aim of developing procurement alternatives
  • implement market analyses, RFI, RFQ processes and procurement auctions and conduct contract negotiations
  • prepare, moderate and implement location-focused procurement initiatives and projects
  • prepare and implement supplier evaluation audits and supplier reviews
  • manage crisis (ad hoc procurement) for all local related procurement activities and process contractual disruptions
  • ensure a smooth transition between strategic and operational procurement within the procurement function (sourcing -> procure-to-pay) as well as Project Management (contract manager) and Procurement Excellence
  • assume responsibility of local procurement knowledge, management of site-related activities as well as internal stakeholder management

Your Profile

  • master’s or bachelor's degree, preferably in the field of economics, industrial or mechanical engineering, with >5 years of work experience in the procurement area (ideally in a global organization)
  • strong commercial and technical understanding of and knowledge in project management, change management and contract law
  • good SAP R/3/S4HANA, Ariba and MS 365 skills
  • fluency in German and business English
  • very good communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills as well as ability to manage and interact in teams
  • exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills as well as ability to construct/execute basic spend and cost analyses
  • strong initiative and team player attitude
