In this context, a centralized Group Engineering Organization (GEO) serves as a key enabler providing expertise and enhanced execution capabilities to the group for the successful implementation of strategic projects. Development, implementation and controlling of governance rules for these projects are key for the foundation of successful Aurubis projects.

Senior Engineer Material Technology & Non-Destructive Testing CoE Group Engineering (m/f/d)

Your Tasks

  • Being a part of Aurubis’ Group Engineering Organization (GEO), you are in charge of all relevant standard specifications of the group and report to our Team Leader of Center of Excellence Group Engineering.  
  • You define basic standards on quality issues in the execution of projects as well as standards to ensure the quality of repairs, especially in welding technology.
  • Furthermore, you standardize materials and material test procedures for strategic topics within the group for specific groups of plants in close cooperation with the departments concerned.
  • You ensure the application of group standards through training and briefings.
  • In cooperation with the project team you prepare and participate in strategic project meetings.
  • Besides that, you develop plans for comparative testing of material applications and possibly resulting adjustment of standards.
  • You coach the involved technical departments at the plants and disseminate knowledge about the relevant technologies and materials.
  • Additionally, you create a materials technology competence center at group level to support and implement the strategic major CapEx projects and other strategic topics.
  • You create acceptance of the introduced processes across cultural boundaries and thus strengthen the cross-site cooperation.

Your Profile

  • You have successfully completed a master’s degree or diploma in engineering, materials technology / materials science or a comparable field.
  • You are a certified welding engineer.
  • Besides that, you have at least five years of practical experience in a related project environment as well as knowledge of material applications and non-destructive testing in chemical apparatus engineering / plant operation.
  • You possess a profound knowledge of relevant software tools (e.g. MS 365, simulation software, ERP software).
  • Additionally, you have an excellent command of written and spoken English and German (C level).  
  • You possess proven problem-solving skills and a high level of independency (in planning, organization, execution and controlling).
  • You are capable of working within strict deadlines and under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Furthermore, you have knowledge of project and change management and you are experienced in resolving conflicts in an international context as well as open to constructive feedback.
  • As an excellent communicator you can do presentations in front of relevant stakeholders and external partners.
  • You have strong teamwork skills, interest in new tasks and challenges and a strong desire for optimization.
  • Willingness to travel and flexibility for (partially) international deployments to a respective project location round off your profile.
