We are looking for you to support our team in Hamburg as a

 

Technology Manager / Process Engineer Battery Materials (m/f/d)

Your Tasks

  • In this position you will support the development of the basis of design for metallurgical battery recycling processes and the collaboration with external engineering contractors during pre-feasibility, feasibility, basic and detailed engineering.
  • You review calculation models, mass balances and process flow diagrams as well as conceptual and feasibility studies.
  • Furthermore, you provide assistance for the project manager in the planning and execution of projects, management of stakeholder relations and reporting to project steering committee.
  • You contribute to business development activities within the scope of battery materials.
  • Additionally, you assist in techno-economic market research and analyses for battery recycling, nickel, cobalt, and manganese as well as lithium salt production processes. You also generate input for the development of high-level economic estimates and analyses.
  • As a technical expert you passionately support technical marketing in close cooperation with business development and investigate and benchmark competitive technologies.
  • The participation in technical exchanges and site visits as well as meetings with suppliers and customers will also be part of this position.

Your Profile

  • You have successfully completed a master’s or diploma degree in metallurgy, process/mechanical engineering or in a comparable field.  
  • In addition, you have at least 3 years of practical experience in related engineering or/ technology professions as well as knowledge in the non-ferrous metals processing and refining of non-ferrous metals. Knowledge of the lithium-ion battery industry would be beneficial.
  • A good technical and economic understanding of chemical and hydrometallurgical plants and processes is needed.
  • You have exposure to the engineering of chemical or metallurgical plants.
  • Fluent language skills in English and preferably in German are mandatory.
  • You are capable of solving problems in a structured way and have strong teamwork skills as well as interest in new tasks and challenges.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and intercultural empathy with a high level of stakeholder management round off your profile.
