Job Summary:

The onsite reliability engineer ensures reliability and maintainability of our equipment and installations. The reliability engineer will work closely with Operations and Maintenance to identify and implement improvements to the design and maintenance processes. Reliability engineer implements maintenance schedules and failure modes and effects analysis processes to ensure long-lasting and high-quality products. Defines the proper preventive maintenance plans for critical assets. Manages risks that could adversely affect plant operations. Defines and implements small technical engineering projects. A qualified candidate will be process driven, an expert in SAP, and have a knowability understanding of process flow and value streams with 7-10 years of experience in engineering experience.

This position requires the ability to travel internationally for training purposes. The ideal candidate will be open to immersing themselves in different cultures and working collaboratively with teams from around the world to gain a comprehensive understanding of our business and industry. This training can last between 2-6 weeks.

Your Tasks

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with and optimization of occupational safety measures in plants and during maintenance work.
  • Support operations and maintenance to improve equipment reliability.
  • Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Perform root cause analysis on failure data.
  • Identify bad actors.
  • Lead problem solving teams to identify, design and implement improvements.
  • Have a focus on resolving maintainability issues, lower maintenance costs and improve productivity.
  • Responsible for preliminary engineering (costing, budgeting) and optimization projects (execution, deadline, quality) and coordinate projects with the maintenance teams
  • Provide engineering support for troubleshooting, defining the appropriate preventive maintenance measures and support planned shutdowns.
  • Supports maintenance in defining the proper maintenance strategy for plant assets.
  • Supports the optimization of work preparation and improvement of maintenance plans.
  • Engineering support for spare parts management and warehouse organization for the assigned plant area
  • Introduction and implementation of the Asset lifecycle management methodology, i.e. inspection of plant condition, determination of replacement investment requirements, survey of asset health index, determination of the appropriate maintenance strategy and equipment criticality.
  • Define, in cooperation with production, the appropriate operational parameters to monitor to ensure maximum equipment lifetime.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to improve reliability and maintainability of plant equipment.
  • Performs risk analysis on installations and technical processes.
  • Develops engineering solutions to recurrent failures and problems to affect plant availability.
  • Provides technical support to production, maintenance and technical staff.
  • Assumption of the function of a technical representative

 

Your Profile

Requirements

  • This role is Exempt status and will also be expected to be available in case of emergencies after-hours.
  • At least 7-10 years of experience in a reliability engineering role or related technical/engineering field
  • Must be an expert in SAP
  • Experience with ISO55000 series
  • Must be willing to travel internationally for training for about 3-6 weeks.
  • Must be conversant in EPA/EPD and OSHA regulations. Will be required to become an OSHA Train-the-Trainer level expert.
  • Knowledge of common reliability tools such as Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), SPC, RCA
  • Experience with Six Sigma, Lean and other process improvement methodologies
  • Strong basic engineering skills (mechanical, electrical, industrial and materials)
  • Basic understanding of common predictive technologies (vibration analysis, lubrication, thermography, motor analysis, ultrasonics, alignment)
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in conducting data analysis and statistical tools
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and through teams at all levels of the workforce.
  • Ability to travel throughout facility as required to conduct safety inspections.
  • Ability to respond quickly and efficiently to all safety needs on the floor or in the office areas.
  • Must wear all required PPE when in protected areas.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project & Outlook)

Preferred (but not required)

  • Experience with ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001/ISO 45001.
  • Experience in the manufacturing or industrial sector is a plus
  • Experience with SAP Plant Maintenance or other CMMS
