Job Summary:

We are seeking an onsite Mechanical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and devices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that designs meet project requirements and are manufacturable. Additionally, you will be responsible for identifying and troubleshooting issues during the development and testing process.

Your Tasks

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical systems and components, including 3D modeling and simulation, prototyping, and testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical, electrical, and software components.
  • Perform analysis and optimization of mechanical systems and components, including stress analysis, thermal analysis, and fluid dynamics.
  • Participate in the development of product requirements, specifications, and test plans.
  • Lead and participate in design reviews and product validation activities.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
  • Support manufacturing and production activities, including troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and developments and participate in professional development activities.

Your Profile

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in product development.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices, including 3D modeling, simulation, and analysis.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) software, such as ANSYS or Abaqus.
  • Knowledge of materials selection and manufacturing processes, such as injection molding, machining, and sheet metal fabrication.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be willing and physically able to walk/work in, observe and spend time in a smelter environment.
  • Must be willing and physically able to work in intense heat situations.
  • Prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, climbing, balancing, crouching and kneeling.
  • May have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, in meetings or presenting and training.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Ability to travel throughout facility as required to conduct audits and/or walk-throughs.
  • Must wear all required PPE when in protected areas.
  • Required to reach and grasp with hands and reach with arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to respond to any safety incident quickly and effectively and/or accident including First Responder duties.
  • Willing and physically able to travel domestically and/or internationally, if requested.
  • This is an extensively physical role.
