Procurement Intern

Your Tasks

  • Assist with the on-site procurement process from requisition to order placement, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and organize procurement records, contracts, and other documentation for easy access and reference.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to obtain necessary documents, such as invoices, delivery receipts, and certificates of compliance.
  • Generate purchase orders and ensure they are accurately completed, approved, and submitted to suppliers in a timely manner.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in the management of stock replenishment.
  • Support the procurement team in researching potential suppliers and obtaining quotes.
  • Assist in vendor qualification and evaluation, including gathering and updating supplier information.
  • Prepare and distribute reports related to procurement activities and expenses.
  • Answer and redirect procurement-related inquiries, both internally and externally.
  • Assist in coordinating meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements for procurement staff.
  • Participate in special projects and assignments as directed by the procurement manager.

Your Profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or relevant certification is a plus.
  • Prior administrative or clerical experience, preferably in a procurement or related field.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with procurement software is advantageous.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and suppliers.
  • An understanding of basic procurement processes and principles.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive procurement information.
