Predictive Maintenance Technician

Your Tasks

As a Predictive Maintenance Technician, you will maintain a current working knowledge of Predictive Maintenance Tools and Reliability Centered Maintenance Philosophies. You will play a vital role in establishing a predictive maintenance program and predictive maintenance routes within the plant. You will perform predictive maintenance tasks such as vibration analysis, infrared, and lubrication analysis

Your Profile


  • Perform Precision Laser Alignment, make reliability improvements and modification recommendations to the Maintenance and Engineering as required. 
  • Document lubrication samples, make determinations of severity, write corrective work orders and trend, and track progress per equipment.
  • Work independently and with maintenance staff to identify and perform corrective actions on industrial equipment.
  • Generate and complete work orders within SAP as assigned.
  • Identify equipment that would benefit from PdM technologies.
  • Monitor and review collected PdM data
  • Moitor production equipment performance with predictive tools to identify potential failures and correct before a failure occurs. Continually looking for opportunities  for improvement of equipment and process reliability. 


  • Strong knowledge of predictive maintenance techniques and practices.
  • 3-5 years of experience within predictive maintenance environment
  • Experience with vibration equipment and analysis of vibration equipment (i.e. motors, rotating equipment, air handlers, generators, compressors, oil/fuel)
  • Experience with equipment monitoring, reviewing preventative maintenance data, and providing reports
  • Proficient in software systems and applications – MS Office,  SAP
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects or equipment.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures.
  • Proven experience as a PD Maintenance Technician or in a similar maintenance role.

  • Must exhibit exemplary communication skills.


  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be willing and physically able to walk/work in, observe and spend time in a smelter environment.
  • Must be willing and physically able to work in intense heat situations.
  • Prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, climbing, balancing, crouching and kneeling.
  • May have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, in meetings or presenting and training.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Ability to travel throughout facility as required to conduct audits and/or walk-throughs.
  • Must wear all required PPE when in protected areas.
  • Required to reach and grasp with hands and reach with arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to respond to any safety incident quickly and effectively and/or accident including First Responder duties.
  • Willing and physically able to travel domestically and/or internationally, if requested.
  • This is an extensively physical role
