Electronic Technician

Your Tasks

Job Summary: 

As an Electronic Technician you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various control systems operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems, PLC programming, and automation technologies.

Responsibilities: 

  • Install, maintain, and repair control systems, including but not limited to PLCs, SCADA systems, DCS, HMIs and other automation equipment.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on control systems to ensure optimal performance reliability.
  • Troubleshoot control system issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to design and implement control system upgrades and modifications.
  • Document all maintenance and repaid activities, including updating schematics, manuals, and other technical documentation.
  • Has the ability to install and troubleshoot, Motor Starters and Controls, like Cycle Start Buttons, Limits Switches, Sensors, Power Supplies and can run wire said items. Also understands the difference between PNP and NPN.
  • Knowledge of AC and DC voltage a must – 480V to 24V.
 

Your Profile

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electrical engineering, automation, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working  as a controls Technician or in a similar role.
  • Proficienct in PLC programming and troubleshooting(e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control devices.
  • Experience with SCADA systems, DCS, HMIs and other control system software.
  • Ability to interpret electrical scematics, wiring diagram, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as needed.

Education Required:

  • High school certificate

Physical Requirements:

  • Varying periods of time sitting at the control terminal in the control room
  • Varying periods of time standing/ walking in the plant
  • Must be able to perform the following: walking, standing, climbing, pulling, and or pushing, carrying, grasping, using hand-to-finger movement, balancing, reaching, twisting, turning and stooping for most of every day. 
  • May occasionally be required to reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Good physical condition with the ability to lift to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Good hand/eye coordination, motor skills, 20/20 corrected vision and hearing within the normal range. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • There will be prolonged periods of standing and walking in the plant daily.
  • Ability to travel throughout facility as required to conduct safety inspections.
  • Ability to respond quickly and efficiently to all safety needs on the floor or in the office areas.
  • Must wear all required PPE’s when in protected areas.
