Technology Manager Battery Materials (m/f/d)

Your Tasks

  • In this position, you will assist in the development, implementation, and optimization of technology solutions and processes related to battery recycling by supporting research initiatives, participating in technical projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and efficiency in battery recycling.
  • You will conduct techno-economic market research and analyses for battery recycling, nickel, cobalt, and manganese as well as lithium salt production processes through the collection and analysis of data, literature, and market trends.
  • As part of the role, you will assist the team by conducting research on and evaluating emerging battery technologies, battery materials, and processes relevant to battery recycling.
  • With your technological understanding you ensure a close tracking of regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • In addition, you will support the development of metallurgical battery recycling processes and collaborate with external engineering contractors.
  • As a technical expert you passionately support technical marketing in close cooperation with commercial experts and investigate and benchmark competitive technologies.
  • The participation in technical exchanges and site visits as well as technical conferences will also be part of this position.

Your Profile

  • You have successfully completed a master’s or diploma degree in metallurgy, chemistry, process engineering, or a comparable field.  
  • In addition, you preferably have at least 2-3 years of practical experience in related research/technology professions
  • A good technical and economic understanding of chemical and hydrometallurgical plants and processes as well as knowledge in non-ferrous metals processing, refining and lithium-ion battery recycling is needed.
  • Through your analytical and organised thinking, you solve problems in a structured way and have the ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly.
  • You have a “hands-on” mentality and the will to push the development of a new business model with your know-how and your excellent entrepreneurial and analytical thinking in an intercultural environment.
  • You are enthusiastic for sustainable technologies and have a desire to make a positive impact on the environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of stakeholder management are a given.
  • You have strong teamwork skills and interest in new tasks and challenges.
  • Fluent language skills in English and preferably in German round off your profile.
