Head of Health and Safety (m/f/d)

Your Tasks

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive health and safety strategy aligned with the company's vision, goals, and values, driving tangible improvements in safety performance and culture.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership and other functions to integrate health and safety considerations into strategic decision-making processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Champion a proactive approach to risk management, identifying emerging risks and opportunities to enhance safety performance and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Drive organizational change and foster a culture of safety excellence through effective communication, training, and engagement initiatives at all levels of the organization.
  • Provide strategic leadership to the Health and safety team of skilled professionals, offering guidance, support, and mentorship to drive performance and achieve objectives.
  • Steer and empower cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of innovative safety projects and programs, leveraging data-driven insights and industry best practices.
  • Prepare and manage the department budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to support strategic initiatives, equipment upgrades, and compliance activities.
  • Oversee the planning and implementation of all safety training programs with the active support of the Human resources department.
  • Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies, professional organizations, and other stakeholders to stay abreast of emerging trends, best practices, and regulatory updates.

Your Profile

  • Successfully completed technical university degree.
  • In case you have covered an international qualification course in health and safety, that would be considered an advantage.
  • Proven experience of minimum 5 years in a senior health and safety role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Deep understanding of health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices, coupled with the ability to translate technical knowledge into actionable strategies and solutions.
  • Proficient English language skills both written and spoken are essential.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, fostering a collaborative and safety-focused culture.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build networks, effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization pile up to an ideal profile.
