We are seeking a Maintenance Planner – Outage Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordination and oversight of recurring major equipment outage maintenance activities.  Oversight includes scope, budget and contractor management.  The successful candidate will work closely with maintenance and operations leadership and other stakeholders to ensure major equipment and process turnarounds are properly planned, scheduled and executed.

Maintenance Planner - Outage Coordinator

Your Tasks

  • Develop and refine Major equipment and process work scopes, budgets and timelines
  • Develop and refine recurring and one-off contractor work scopes.
  • Oversee Outage / turn-around planning meetings and associated agendas
  • Facilitate Post outage and Post critical job critiques.
  • Interact with Corporate outage coordination and planning standardization efforts
  • Back up Daily / Weekly planner during vacations and absence
  • Develop detailed work plans, including labor and material requirements.  Ensure work orders are complete and accurate
  • Develop and maintain a major outage / shut-down job plan library, including preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, critical task and corrective maintenance work plans.
  • Produce weekly maintenance work schedule. 
  • Educate stake holders on Maintenance Work Flow process
  • Work with warehouse staff to organize and ‘kit’ outage parts and materials
  • Ensure Asset PM’s are executed, service reports retained and filed in SAP

Your Profile

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in maintenance planning or a related field.
  • Industrial shut-down planning experience – Critical Path Planning, Gantt Chart development
  • Contractor management, scope development, cost optimization
  • Strong understanding of maintenance principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of maintenance software and systems.  SAP, Microsoft project or equivalent project planning software.   
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Must be willing and physically able to walk/work in, observe and spend time in a smelter environment.
  • Must be willing and physically able to work in intense heat situations. 
  • Able to sit, stand and walk for varying periods of time in the plant.
  • Must be able to perform the following: walking, standing, climbing, pulling, and or pushing, carrying, grasping, using hand-to-finger movement, balancing, reaching, twisting, turning, and stooping.
  • May occasionally be required to reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. 
  • Good physical condition with the ability to lift to 50 lbs. occasionally. 
  • Good hand/eye coordination, motor skills, 20/20 corrected vision and hearing within the normal range. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. 
  • Ability to respond quickly and efficiently to all safety needs on the floor or in the office areas. 
  • Must wear all required PPE when in protected areas. 
  • Willing and physically able to travel domestically and/or internationally, if requested.
