Manager Technologies & Quality in Analytical Labs (m/f/d)

Your Tasks

As Manager Technologies & Quality in Analytical Labs, you will lead a dedicated team of chemists to deliver accurate, reliable, and timely analytical results that support commercial, operational, and environmental decisions. You will be responsible for quality assurance, method development, laboratory systems, and compliance with international standards, and act in close cooperation with the Operational team of the Labs.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading all activities related to the quality and traceability of laboratory analysis — classical and instrumental — across the site.
  • Developing, validating, and verifying analytical methods for commercial and financial purposes (e.g., metal balance), process control, and environmental monitoring.
  • Ensuring methodical and metrological soundness of analytical procedures, including the use of reference materials, blind samples, monitoring data, and Proficiency testings/MLC.
  • Overseeing the implementation and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System in line with ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Coordinating laboratory requests with internal clients and ensuring alignment on expectations and delivery timelines.
  • Identifying KPIs and preparing technical reports to evaluate laboratory performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Preparing, maintaining, and updating technical documentation such as validation/verification reports, procedures, work instructions.

Your Profile

You are a highly skilled chemist with excellent leadership and organisational capabilities, who enjoys solving complex analytical problems and helping others grow. You’re comfortable operating under pressure and leading through change in a dynamic industrial environment.  

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry, or a closely related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in analytical chemistry or laboratory operations, ideally in a mining/metallurgy setting.
  • Experience with classical and instrumental techniques such as Fire assay, titrations, IC, AAS, ICP-OES/MS, XRF.
  • Strong understanding of Quality management systems and standards — ISO/IEC 17025 experience is highly preferred.
  • Fluent in English (B2–C1 level).
  • Proficient in MS Office; experience with LIMS or SAP is an advantage.
