We are seeking a Technical Business Services Director to take full responsibility for the Engineering, R&D and IT domains across multiple international sites. In this executive role, you will define and drive the technical and digital strategy, strengthen innovation and operational excellence, and ensure that each site performs at the highest level of technical maturity, efficiency and safety.

Your Tasks
As Technical Business Services Director, you hold full responsibility for the technical, research and digital domains within the organisation. You lead the Engineering, Research & Development and IT departments for the sites in Beerse and Olen, while also carrying strategic and content‑driven responsibility for R&D‑ and IT‑related topics relevant to the site in Berango. The core focus of the role is to ensure that each site performs at its highest individual potential by enabling Engineering, R&D and IT to operate optimally, efficiently and with a high level of technical maturity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops a clear, future‑oriented strategy for each department, gatekeeps the governance and translates it into concrete plans and objectives tailored to each site.
- Analyses the performance of each individual department, identifies improvement opportunities and implements optimisations that enhance technical maturity, reliability and efficiency.
- Defines policy frameworks, governance structures, quality standards and methodologies that are robust, executable and transparent for every site under your responsibility.
- Leads the full portfolio of engineering, R&D and IT projects and ensures rigorous management of timelines, scope, quality and budget.
- Sets priorities for strategic investments based on technical and operational requirements, assessed risks, expected returns and overall impact.
- Strengthens innovation capacity by introducing and embedding new technologies, advancing digitalisation and promoting modern working methods across all technical domains.
- Coaches and develops business managers, builds strong and resilient leadership teams and fosters a culture rooted in professionalism, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Ensures full compliance with health & safety, technical, legal and quality standards, as well as internal corporate guidelines and requirements.
- Reports transparently to the leadership team on risks, organisational performance, investment needs, progress and strategic impact.
- Safeguards operational stability by anticipating critical risks, implementing robust control mechanisms and protecting key technical and digital processes.
Your Profile
- Holds a master’s degree in a technical or scientific discipline, or possesses demonstrably equivalent professional experience.
- Brings at least 10 years of relevant experience in Engineering, R&D, IT or a combination of these domains, including a minimum of 10 years in senior leadership or executive roles.
- Combines strategic vision with strong technical depth and a clear understanding of operational realities across multiple domains.
- Demonstrates the ability to critically analyse complex technical, organisational and investment‑related issues and to take well‑founded, consistent decisions.
- Is capable of effectively steering three distinct disciplines with differing levels of maturity and operational complexity.
- Shows strong leadership skills and has a proven track record in developing, guiding and empowering senior managers.
- Works in a pragmatic and results‑driven manner and brings structure, clarity and stability to technically demanding environments.
- Communicates clearly, professionally and convincingly at all organisational levels.
- Expert stakeholder management within a matrix structure and group environment.
- Has extensive experience with large‑scale investment programmes, digital transformation initiatives, innovation projects and technological change.
- Operates consistently in line with the highest standards of safety, quality and process discipline.
