The Asset Protection Manager is responsible for safeguarding company people, property, and processes by leading security operations, loss prevention initiatives, crisis response, and regulatory compliance. This role ensures readiness for emergency events, drives continuous improvement of protection systems, and partners cross‑functionally to support organizational resilience and risk mitigation.

Your Tasks
Loss Prevention & Risk Mitigation
Identify theft, fraud, and safety vulnerabilities through audits, inspections, and data analysis.
Implement strategies to reduce shrink and operational risk across the facility.
Monitor trends and proactively recommend improvements to safeguard assets.
Security Operations
Manage on site security programs, including contract guard services and surveillance monitoring.
Ensure the effectiveness and reliability of access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and fire prevention systems.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives for all security technologies.
Emergency Response & Fire Protection
Serve as Incident Response Team Leader and ensure compliance with NFPA 600 and NFPA 1081 standards.
Maintain readiness of emergency response personnel, equipment, and procedures.
Conduct routine drills and training to validate site preparedness.
Investigations
Conduct thorough internal and external investigations related to theft, workplace incidents, security breaches, and fire/safety concerns.
Prepare clear, factual documentation and coordinate with HR, Legal, and external agencies as required.
Crisis Management
Lead the site crisis management program, ensuring business continuity and effective incident response.
Train employees on crisis procedures and support enterprise‑wide risk management activities.
Regulatory Compliance & Safety
Ensure full compliance with local, state, federal, and international security and safety regulations.
Support cross‑functional teams in maintaining standards set by internal policies, Michelin, and Risk Management Partners.
Cross‑Functional Partnership
Collaborate closely with HR, Legal, Facilities, Operations, and corporate security & fire to integrate effective security solutions.
Build strong working relationships at all organizational levels.
Financial & Vendor Management
Lead budgeting and financial forecasting for Security, Fire, Emergency Response and Crisis Management
Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to maintain compliance, service quality, and cost control.
Continuous Improvement
Apply Six Sigma and LEAN methodologies to enhance departmental performance and operational efficiency.
Manage capital projects related to Security, Fire, Emergency Response and Crisis Management Improvement.
Your Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
7–10 years of experience in asset protection, loss prevention, or security management.
Experience heavy industrial, smelting and metal manufacturing environments preferred.
Strong investigative and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
Excellent communication, report writing, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with security technologies, including access control, CCTV, and fire protection systems.
Ability to lead teams, manage crises, and collaborate across departments.
Project management experience with demonstrated success handling capital projects
Must be willing and physically able to observe and walk in a smelter environment.
Must be willing and physically able to work in varying cold and heat situations.
Could have times that are prolonged periods of walking, standing, and bending.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Ability to travel throughout the facility as required to conduct audits and make observations.
Must wear all required PPE when in protected areas.
Required to reach and grasp with hands and reach with arms.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Willing and physically able to travel domestically and/or internationally if requested.
