As an Engineering Manager, you are responsible for the complete and efficient implementation of the capital budget and project portfolio. The Engineer Manager works closely with the Site Management Team, Engineering staff, Finance, Maintenance, EHS and Sustainability partners to ensure that plant capital is efficiently and properly deployed. The Engineering Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and oversite of all engineering project processes and systems.

Your Tasks
Accountable for the efficient and proper allocation of the capital budget.
Accountable for the development, implementation and oversite of engineering project processes and systems
- FEL Project developemnt process
- Capital project portfolio, including, approvals, multi-year budget / implementation plan
- Document management system
- Compliance to change related systems MOC, PSSR, Risk review, Hazop, etc
- Post project critique and performance evaluation
Accountable for the Management of Change (MOC), Hazard Study and PSSR processes.
Accountable for project progress tracking and deviation management to ensure engineering delivers design on time and budget.
Responsible for personal project deliverables, and broader portfolio deliverables
Responsible for aligning project systems with Aurubis corporate engineering processes and standards
Responsible for establishing metrics to monitor and improve various project engineering systems
Responsible for the staffing (supplemental contracting if needed) support establishing MSAs, RFQs and selection for project, contractor management, review MSAs, supplier performance evaluation, coordination, etc.
Responsible for the development of the project engineering team to meet capital implementation budget and site needs
Lead the Project Engineering Team. Provide technical advice and guidance to the AUR site team and Requestor as required.
Your Profile
Bachelor or Master’s in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or related field.
Professional Engineering (PE) license, or another similar credential (CESCP, CPSE) is preferred.
Project management certification is preferred
10+ years Industrial Capital Project Engineering experience ($50k – $5M+ projects)
Demonstrated engineering management experience. Strong project management and leadership skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of project engineering processes, practices and standards.
Demonstrated use of metrics to monitor and improve the health of project systems
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to align and engage project engineering team
Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Experience with major mechanical equipment included in smelting process preferred.
Ability to lead in a cross-cultural setting.
Highly organized with strong attention to details and technicalities.
Strong critical and analytical thinking and quantitative skills.
Comfort with fast-paced, quickly changing environment.
Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards.
Physical Requirements
Must be willing and physically able to observe and walk in a smelter environment.
Must be willing and physically able to work in varying cold and heat situations.
Could have times that are prolonged periods of walking, standing, and bending.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Ability to travel throughout the facility as required to conduct audits and make
observations
