Managing Director / Plant Manager Deutsche Giessdraht GmbH (m/f/d)

  • Overall Leadership: You oversee all aspects of the production site’s operations (incl. KPI management), ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols. You foster a strong "Safety-First" culture across the entire site.
  • Process Optimization: You will identify opportunities for improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. You will lead initiatives aimed at performance enhancement and achieving better outcomes through innovation and continuous improvement, thereby strengthening the company's competitive edge.
  • Leadership and Team Development: You will lead, coach, and develop a diverse team of manufacturing personnel, including supervisors, operators, and support staff. You will set performance goals, provide ongoing feedback, and conduct evaluations to enhance performance and engagement.
  • Stakeholder Management: You maintain communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely availability of raw materials, equipment, and services.
  • Budget & Investment Management: You will develop and manage the site’s operating budget, focusing on cost-effective resource utilization. Additionally, you will identify capital investment needs in line with the growth strategy, plan and define project scopes, and collaborate with the management team to ensure the successful execution of capital expenditure (CapEx) projects.
  • Cultural Transformation: You will ensure that the management team communicates the Aurubis culture within the organization to foster the necessary cultural change and position Aurubis as a modern, attractive, and international employer. In doing so, you will promote an engaged and agile workforce.
  • Diversity and Collaboration: You will support cross-functional and cross-site collaboration and actively advocate for diversity and inclusion within the site.

Profiel

  • You have successfully completed a bachelor’s degree in engineering, business economics or a related technical field. An MBA is strongly preferred, and multi-disciplinary experience (operations, functions, business) is a plus.
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in managerial positions within industrial companies, with deep knowledge of manufacturing operations, risk management, and general management, particularly in the process industry
  • Proven experience in managing international projects and teams, with an excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Strong experience in leading change processes, handling stakeholder management, and motivating teams through difficult situations
  • Skilled in making decisions in complex environments, balancing conflicting goals such as cost, quality, and reliability while upholding safety, legal compliance, and environmental protection standards
  • Demonstrated capability in managing senior staff, employees, and resources effectively, fostering a culture of trust and openness within the site leadership team
  • A confident leader with the ability to delegate responsibilities, build trust, and inspire confidence in teams and stakeholders alike
  • Exhibit high levels of ambition and passion for results and a clear willingness for self-development with a resilient mindset
  • Strong crisis management skills and the ability to mediate conflicts successfully
